May Day – Community Day of Resistance and Solidarity
Join your Medford neighbors and a coalition of local organizations to celebrate May Day in Medford on Friday, May 1, 2026. There will be opportunities to show our support for local businesses, exercise our collective power, learn about tools and strategies and just have fun together. Wear something red!

1:30-2:30 PM
Join Mystic Mashup Indivisible for Noncooperation 101, an educational event at the Medford Public Library in the Bonsignore Room on the 2nd floor. Learn how to say “no” to injustice and make your efforts count.
4:00-5:00 PM
Join the May Day Citizens Bank Standout in Medford Square. (Learn more about Boycott Citizens.)
5:30-6:00 PM
March with the BABAM Band from Roland G. Pithier Way to Clippership Pop-Up Park.
6:00-8:00 PM
Gather at Clippership Pop-Up Park (Clippership Drive and Riverside Avenue) for family-friendly fun activities, music and a potluck supper. Bring a dish to share if you want, but it’s not required. Tables, plates and cutlery will be provided. Hear remarks from Meghan Searl of MMI, David Zabner, Miranda Breseño and Anna Callahan. Enjoy music from Not Your Mother.

Other May Day Suggestions
- Shop locally with cash. Don’t use credit cards or buy from corporate stores on 5/1. Instead, shop at local and particularly immigrant-owned businesses. Pay in cash.
- Meet neighbors for breakfast or lunch. Meet neighbors and friends for breakfast or lunch at local spots and pay with cash. For those who work, pick up coffee/breakfast from a local shop on the way. Give a box of local pastries or donuts to a friend or local business that you like.

You will be asked to write 10-20 postcards depending on time and attendance.

Stop Citizens Bank From Financing Private ICE Prisons
Weekly Saturday Standouts – Medford and Davis Squares
Join Mystic Mashup at local Citizen Bank branches to send Citizens Bank a clear message: financing private prison and immigration detention facility operators The GEO Group and CoreCivic is bad for business.
We’ll stand out on the public sidewalk in front of Citizens Banks in Medford Square and Davis Square on Saturdays from 11-12.
Please only bring signs specific to this action: Cages Aren’t Communities; Citizens Bank – Stop Financing ICE gulags; Citizens Bank + ICE = Human Rights Abuse; ICE Prisons Don’t Strengthen Our Communities; Citizens Bank- Cut Ties With ICE Gulags; etc. We’ll have some extra signs, too.
A core principle behind all of these events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events. Please do not block business entrances or traffic.

A 2-hour virtual training on civil resistance and noncooperation. We will cover the authoritarian threat, pillars of support, stories of noncooperation in these times, and how noncooperation has been used to defeat authoritarians and fascists.

Friday Bridge Brigade – Somerville
NEW TIME! Fridays 4:00-5:00 PM
Join a hearty crew from Mystic Mashup Indivisible on the pedestrian bridge over McGrath-O’Brien Highway in Somerville every Friday afternoon. Bring your banners, signs and enthusiasm as we share messages of democracy, justice and peace with the rush hour commuters.

Weekly Thursday Standouts
Join Justice for all Thursdays at the ICE Enforcement & Removal Operations Office at 1000 District Avenue in Burlington, MA on Thursdays from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Volunteers are welcome every Thursday. Justice 4 All is a program of the Greater Assabet Indivisible Network (GAIN), an Indivisible Network associated group.
