Who We Are
Mystic Mashup Indivisible is a local chapter of the national Indivisible movement, organizing and working in the Mystic Valley across Medford, Somerville, Malden, Everett and other surrounding towns. Formed after the 2024 election of Donald Trump, we are united by a shared commitment to:
- Defending democracy and resisting authoritarianism, both in the U.S. and around the world
- Protecting the rights and safety of marginalized communities, including people of color, the LGBTQIA+ community (particularly transgender individuals), immigrants and migrants at risk of deportation, women and girls, and other vulnerable groups
- Safeguarding voting rights, free speech, freedom of assembly, and a free press
- Opposing economic policies that have shifted the country’s wealth to the top 1% while cutting programs vital to vulnerable individuals
- Supporting public infrastructure like healthcare, education, consumer protection, public safety, Social Security and other basic social programs
- Upholding the separation of church and state and resisting the rise of Christian Nationalism, particularly as advocated by the authors of Project 2025, many of whom are now top-level government officials
- Preserving the ability of our planet to sustain life in the face of human-generated threats to climate, bio-diversity, and other natural resources
